This is the last ordinary week for YOP – Year 5. Next week is the round up post, where we all take a look at what has been accomplished this past YOP year.
So, onto this past week. Last Sunday I worked entirely on Simones Wedding Shawl, I’m up as far as part 8. Simones Wedding Shawl is live on Ravelry and my project page for my shawl can be found here.
During the week I’ve worked mainly on my Aer na Farraige shawl. I love working on this and I’m enjoying knitting the sample up, immensely.
If you happen to be following me on Insagram some fellow designers and I are running a Summer Lovin Round Robin. Follow each participating designer on Instagram. Each day we are featuring a pattern by each of the different participating designers. You need to comment and like the post on the featured designers own Instagram feed. Do this and you go into the draw for the grand prize of a copy of each featured pattern. To read all about it, check out posts from the start with this picture and follow the tag #summerlovinroundrobin
The KAL for my Fíorghrá pattern has one week remaining on it. I better get a wiggle on with my one! I love the versions produced and can’t wait to see them finished.
Let’s have a look.

Ruth.
The more I see knitting projects, the more I want to learn. Your work is beautiful.
Thank you Dianna, it’s a slippery slope this fibre business 🙂
Ruth, your wedding shawl is lovely. The colors really compliment each other so well. Your new design is airy and delicate looking. Will be looking forward to seeing it once completed. Very much looking forward to your roundup next week and your list for next year.
This is my favorite shawl project of yours.
I love that shawl and the colors! I’m planning on shawls this year but mostly the smaller ones that can wrap around the neck. Congratulations on your year of designs and progress considering all your responsibilities you should get an award! I miss seeing the children’s pictures.
What a beautiful study in contrasts is the Simones Wedding Shawl – between the garter stitch and the lacey sections, and between solid and variegated (and I see some made striped garter stitch sections) it’s such a interesting shawl. Your shawls always make me think “I really should give more serious thought to learning to knit”. I’m thinking it definitely needs to go right back onto my YOP list for next year, for sure.
