YOP – Year 5 week 44

YOP 5a

This week I’ve been mainly concentrating on two projects.

I started Simones Wedding Shawl from OwlCatDesigns, this is a KAL being run by Simone on Instagram and it’s great fun! It’s lovely to just relax and unwind and knit a great designers shawl, I’m really enjoying it. I’m nearly finished part 4 here in this picture, I have since this one finished that section but do have parts 5 and 6 to catch up on and I’m hoping to do that over this long weekend.

I’ve also been working away on my sample of Gaineamh, a new design. I maybe should be spending more time on it but this week has been so busy with other things going on that it was hard to find the time to put some serious time in on it. It’s not even a hard pattern and is really quite relaxing, just getting time to work on it has been the issue.

I still need to get to making up the project pages I need for current projects and I need to update others. I think I’ll have to move that to the top of the to do list for May!

Can you believe there is only 8 weeks remaining in this YOP year, well for the June to July members, those working the Jan to Dec are already nearly half way through their YOP year! So if you think you’d like to join in, pop over to Year of Projects Group on Ravelry and check it out, we love new members and you can join at any stage.

Love how your KAL shawl is turning out. Gorgeous colours.

  2. Becki says:

Oh, that Wedding Shawl is just wonderful looking, Ruth That gray (or whatever color it is that you added to the green in that small section adds great dimension. Can’t wait to see the finished shawl. And no I can’t believe we have only 8 weeks left in this Yop Year! I am amazed at how quickly it has flown by. Looking forward to another year – just around the corner.

  3. Lucy Bowen says:

Love how the wedding shawl is coming along and the new design looks gorgeous. I’m busy planning the next year, Kate Davies and socks I think!!

  4. Both those shawls are scrumptious and I love the colors and those beautiful yarns! They would never last in my house though but gosh they are beautiful!
