YOP – Year 5 week 42

YOP 5a

Lots to catch up on after missing the last two weeks.

Let’s start with Ériu which was close to being released on my last update.

Ériu 1

Well she was released and I have to say she is my favourite and I know, I know my mind chopped and changed from one to the other as they were being published but now that I’m looking at them Ériu is my favourite.

Ériu 2

Farraige the sample I had been working on in my last yop update is finished and is currently being test knitted in my group here. I’m expecting this one to be released in May and she is the first Wrap in my Summer Memories Collection.

I’ve been working away on several other items, some of which I can’t mention just right now and some like my website which are always ongoing.

I have been trying to make the effort to knit on some selfish knitting items, so for me this means a return to knitting on my Fledermaus. I got busy and put this aside late last year and it’s time to make some progress on it. This part of my list has been sadly neglected, this I will be making sure to correct. A bit late for this year but you can see where I’m going to be going next year with my list. I love these cables and it’s such a delight to work away on them just following the pattern and listening to podcasts.

Kitchen re-decoration is still ongoing although it’s very nearly finished, new seats on the chairs have to be made and the last gloss colour on some shelves and presses and I think it might finally be finished. My working desk is also going to get a make over.

Oh yes new hair colour…as some of you may know…I love colour and needless to say this transfers over to my hair…I’m always changing it both in cut and colour. I’m pretty sure I’m a headache for my hairdresser because of this but anyway, just before Christmas I decided to grow and cut the previous colour out and go natural…now naturally I’m several light grey shades to white (I started turning grey in my early teens!). Where was I, oh yes..I got bored with it, it was a bit dull and blah and to everyone’s surprise I stuck it for 4 months but I caved and on Friday I got colour!

Now isn’t that so much better! It’s like someone has restored the normal setting 🙂

Ok list..let’s have a look and see how it is now,

  1. Stunning release of Eiru, just beautiful.
Love the pink hair too xx

  2. Marsha says:

LOVE the hair. You can pull off any color you want in that department. You are so much fun to follow. LOL As for your shawl, another beauty but I must confess, my favorite is Fodhla. I really need to get busy and buy that pattern and get my stash ready to go for it. It would be a wonderful gift but think I will keep it for myself. But I did sneak a peak at your next design and might just have to wait until that one is released to decide which one I like the best.

    • Ruth says:

Thank you Marsha and that is the great things about collections different ones appeal to different knitters and that’s fun talking and discussing them! 😊

  3. Becki says:

Oh Ruth, the Ériu is beautiful. I’m so glad you provided a close up of those beads. And your hair color is very fun! You rock that pink! :^)

  4. Stefanie says:

What fun color you have in your hair! Love it. This is probably my favorite shawl out of the trio. There’s something so magical about it. What a labor of love.

  5. Lucy Bowen says:

Love the hair!! I love all of your shawls and the colours you choose. I think you are well within your rights to do some selfish knitting!

  6. Renee Anne says:

You’re one of those people that can pull of short, bubblegum pink hair. I keep thinking that I’ll go blue or something….but I never do. ::sigh::

  7. Very pretty shawl and I love green I just can’t wear it near my face….socks though! LOL! I love the beads too. Those purple socks are gorgeous!

  8. salpal1 says:

nice shawl, but great hair!!!! And I bet the green shawl goes remarkably well with it. 🙂
