This past week has been a week for more computer based work than knitting kind of work.
I’ve spent the majority of it editing patterns but have managed to make some headway into the knitting of Ériu.
Thank you for the comments and suggestions last week on the blanket.
I looked into them all thought about what it was I wanted to do.
What it really came down to was I just wanted the pattern with colours to just crochet. My head is already full of designs and designing and I’m not sure I can switch from knitting to crochet design that quickly or easily. It’s been some time from I designed anything in crochet.
Anyway I checked through my favourites and the blankets recommended, I went through pinterest to see what inspired me and in the end I chose the Cosy Stripe Blanket by Lucy at Attic 24. It was the colour sequence of this one that tipped the balance in it’s favour. Of course the fact that she sets out the colour sequence in her blog so all I had to do was copy that down and hey presto! I can work one up the same.
After a stash dive into what remains of acrylic yarns for blankets I found three full balls of her recommended colours with 2 open balls. A quick trip into my local LYS and I was able to purchase the remaining colours and I’ve made a start.
The first colour sequence is worked and all 15 colours have been worked once and I’m ready to start the second sequence. It’s a relatively quick crochet project and pretty mindless so I’ve been working on it while catching up on some craftsy classes I wanted to take.
Now the list, it looks something like this;

Ruth.
You have made such headway on your projects, I’m pushing forward on my WIP lol
Brilliant! It’s great to see progress isn’t it, really spurs you on 🙂
I finished a couple of projects so I’m feeling the warm glow of progress 🙂
Beautiful, I love those colours. I can imagine, it must be quite difficult to switch between the two disciplines, without ever getting confused!
I’m loving those colours also, loving them so much I’m thinking I may need one like this for my couch! This could be dangerous 🙂
Love all the colourful stripes!
Thanks, they are fun aren’t they!
I’m going to love watching your Cosy Stripe Blanket grow, Ruth. I can’t believe how much you have finished already. This is on my list of “must make someday” projects. :^)
I think Becki I now want one for myself!
When it comes to crochet I have always been a huge fan of the colourful and cozy projects from Attic 24. I can’t wait to see yours grow.
