YOP – Year 5 week 26

YOP 5a

We are now half way through this yop year. Hard to believe it already.

With not much visible progress to show on current projects I thought we’d take a mini review of the list so I can see where it’s at and what still remains to be done.

So the list broken down into it’s parts.

  1. Hulst Socks KAL started Jun 21st – finished Jul 19th
  2. Paraphernalia
  3. Basic Ribbed Socks
  4. The Forest Moon of Endor  started Sept 1st – finished Oct 25th
  5. Zigzagular Socks
  6. Hedgerow Socks
  7. Vanilla Latte Socks
  8. Hermione’s Everyday Socks
  9. How I Make My Socks started Jul 22nd – finished Aug 16th
  10. How I Make My Socks
  11. River Rapids Socks
  12. Fledermaus started Oct 25th
  13. Willowherb
  14. Dawlish
  15. Milfoil

Three socks have been finished with the Fledermaus still on the needles. I got sidetracked with new designs and some other items that needed to be done. I’m hoping to get back to these and knit some more up but I am also aware of my design schedule for next year.

That leads us onto the designs part of the list.

Over the next 12 months my aim is to publish 10-12 patterns

  1. Cosán Cowl
  2. Alban Eilir Cowl
  3. Dagda
  4. Fíorghrá

So four designs have been released from the start of July that’s nearly half to a third of the list. 10 is the minimum amount of designs I’d like to reach by the end of June. I’m quite pleased with this progress and there are a definite three in the works for early in 2016. These will be The Éire Collection. I have a few more plans for after that to take the designs right through the summer but some real excitement happens in September next year. Something that I’ve been working on from the summer just gone.

The other parts of the list were just added on as they needed. The only one needing further additions to it will most likely be the crocheted cloths, these are a handy in the car waiting on school runs kind of project. You will notice another Ghost Hunters Cloche that I worked up before Christmas as a present for a dear friend. It had to remain all hush hush until it was received.

  1. Streusel started Sept 13th – finished Oct 11

  1. The Ghost Hunters Cloche started Nov 22nd – finished Nov 24th
  2. The Ghost Hunters Cloche started Dec 13th – finished Dec 18th

  1. 2 Cloths finished Sept 25th
  2. 1 Cloth finished Oct 2nd
  3. 1 Cloth finished Oct 21st

So over all most of the concentration for the next half of the year will be in the top two sections, both socks and designs with a couple of cloths thrown in to just break it up.

The main aim is to build on my designs in 2016 and this is where much of my concentration and energies will go.

The socks to are a little selfish knitting kind of thing and you have to have a bit of that as well and if I 6 pairs of socks knit this yop year I’ll consider that a success.
