YOP – Year 5 Week 21

YOP 5a

I’ve been steadily working through some new pattern swatches that I needed to make. The third one is currently blocking with some changes to be made to that one and two are complete, with three more to make this week.

I also got one sample knit finished and blocked. The new pattern is partly written and it just needs photographing, that will only happen when the weather co-operates at this time of year.

Late last night after some charting I was able to cast on the second sample knit. The extra time taken on charting and thinking through each individual component of this knit will benefit it at this stage.

As part of the Indie Design Gift-A-Long that is currently running I’m going to be making this The Ghost Hunters Cloche, I did a little stash diving and found a very precious Malabrigo yarn in my stash, Paris Night is the shade, so a nice inky dark blue (this is my most favoured yarn but is quite hard to get over here so when I do get some I choose the project for it carefully!).

The Fledermaus socks are on hold at the moment as I have tons of design work to get through.

So, the list now looks like this;

  1. Marsha says:

    Ruth, once again you amaze me with all the design work you do. And still have time to take care of home and hearth. Love the color of the yarn for the Cloche. Will be anxious to see it completed.

  2. Becki says:

    The Ghost Hunters Cloche looks great. Can’t wait to see yours, Ruth!

  3. Wowza! The blue yarn is going to look so good in that cloche. I love that style, reminds me of the 20’s or 30’s and Jacqueline Winspear books. You have such patience and precision with your designing but then I guess you need to in order to produce good designs. Great work! Full steam ahead!

  4. Lucy Bowen says:

    Looking forward to seeing the next designs, the colours look fab and the cloche hat will be gorgeous in the malabrigo.

  5. The Ghost Hunter’s Cloche is a fabulous pattern, and it’ll be divine in Malabrigo. I hope you have some awesome buttons picked out! Also, what a nice sunny yellow on your needles!
