YOP – Year 5 week 16

YOP 5a

This week I’ve blocked my new design and photographed it. It has been tech edited and is now in the process of being test knitted in my group here.

I am currently swatching for my next design and I’m just in the process of tweaking and adapting some of the patterns I want to use.

I did complete Streusel last Sunday but it is only going onto the blocking mats today so photos of that will come next week.

I only managed to get knitting on the Forest Moon of Endor last night, this was where I was at the start of the evening, I’m now ready to start the heel increases, once that is out of the way it is straight stockinette knitting to the end so I’m expecting to get a good chunk of that done this week. I have until the end of Oct to finish this sock for it to still count for the challenge.

I’ve checked out Novembers challenge for the SKA and I’m not too crazy about that challenge so once I cast on Fledermaus before the end of Oct I can work on it and again once it’s done before the end of November it will count for the October challenge and I can skip the challenge in November that I don’t want to do. I have decided to knit Fledermaus in this solid purple, I have a few solids but am reluctant to use them all at once or I will simply never use all those self striping yarns that are in my stash, but I have them when I think the pattern really warrants one and Fledermaus does.

Oh you are on a roll. I can’t wait for the latest pattern! Love that purple and I’m looking forward to seeing streusel.

  2. Becki says:

I love reading about your plan and how you work it, Ruth. It’s so opposite from me, but I think that’s why find these kinds of posts fascinating. Also…I love the pictures and how you staged them (the first two, specifically). It makes me feel like I’m sitting at your table, looking at your “stuff”, and have been invited into your creative space. :^)

    • Ruth says:

Oh thank you, they are normally snapped as I’m about to start and they are most likely sat on my lap and shhh but there is normally a child or two at my feet asking me something or beside me showing me something but that is the power of zoom 🙂

  3. Okay…LOVE Streusel and the yarn you chose for it especially. It is turning out so nice. I love the swirl that shows up in it….dreamy! Also, your sock and yarn in the blue is really pretty. I can see hwy you would want a solid for the other sock pattern as you want that beautiful pattern to show. You are really doing wonderful work, Ruth. Keep up the great work!

  4. Iris says:

That green yarn is looking lovely, and I’m looking forward to meeting your completed Streusel. Really liked the look of it as a WIP so I’m sure it’ll be stunning!
