YOP – Year 5 week 7

YOP 5a

With a busy week of comings and goings I was glad to get to the weekend for some down time and even then it’s been a lot more sparse than I thought. But lets take a look at what has been happening on the yop list

The Susan B Anderson “How I Make my Socks” are moving on and are now on the foot part, I could easily have finished these off this week at meetings and such but there is no need to push myself on these. The list of socks this year are to be my down time knitting in between knitting design samples and designing in general. They will no doubt be finished up this week. I did continue the stripe sequence down the foot as with the first sock and what I’m really hoping is that I actually have a matching stripe pair of socks at the end, that we’ll have to wait and see next week. My project page for them can be read here.

I’ve been in the Design Den most free days I’ve had, charting and re-charting in some cases but by the end of the week I had the start of two shawl patterns and a scarf. Of course none of this I can actually show you. I did also swatch with that gorgeous yarn you saw last week and happily got the numbers I need so this week I hope to start the sample knit of that design, most likely draft it at the same time.

I do also have a test knit coming up today or tomorrow, I have a few last edits to do and if I get them done today I’ll post up the test knit later if not it will be tomorrow. I will as usual be running the test knit in my group here. It is also not the test knit I thought was coming up next as there has been a schedule change but for this test knit it needs to be released first.

So with all this happening the YOP list is looking something like this;

    Your socks are gorgeous, I have been watching their progress on Instagram! Looking forward to seeing the new designs and the test knit.

  2. Ann says:

    Your socks are coming along nicely. And I agree why push yourself on these when you don’t have to. Wow, sounds like you have a lot in the design works presently. It will be exciting to see your releases as they come out.

    I am so stoked that there is a new test knit up 😉
    Vacation knitting next week! Woot woot!

  4. Becki says:

    I still love the socks! And the picture with the hint of flowers in the top corner makes an enchanting sort of picture (I’m noticing these things more now ;^). I love reading your short notes about designing. I know it’s a lot of work, but it sounds fun, too.

    • Ruth says:

      Thank you, I just love flowers, can’t seem to grow them for oats but I just love them and normally have them round in different rooms. I’m glad our enjoying the notes on designing, I’m never quite sure how much is of interest and not boring and then I’m also limited by how much I can actually reveal on an actual design but I do so enjoy it, the whole entire process 🙂

  5. See how cute those socks look! I’m surprised one of the kids hasn’t already “put dibs on them”! I think I’m almost exactly at the same spot on my September Charity ribbed socks … just still on sock one though!

  6. Iris says:

    I love the vibrant colours of that yarn – the socks will look so cute and cheerful!
