YOP – Year 4 week 26

charly

I’ve been looking round my crafting corner wondering what I’ve worked on for this last week and the answer is…. A Hat!

Yes just a hat!

Quite unbelievable really, I’ve never spent so little time not crafting. What I did instead was read, read and did some more reading and it was wonderful to just lose myself in a book.

Then when I surfaced somewhere around St Stephens Day I was ready to pick up this hat, yes just the hat, and finish it off.

This is the hat I was knitting with the handspun Jacobs fleece last week. The one I was making up as I went along and hoped the figures would work out. I’ve very imaginatively called it Jacobs Hat.

They did and it fits and it’s so wonderfully warm and cosy. My leg aches something terrible with the cold that I’ve been layering up especially on the legs in a bid to keep it warm so I’ve been wearing this hat a lot as well indoors just to help.

I did on Saturday take up a new shawl design I’m working on. I had started this about a month ago but with Christmas and one thing and another I didn’t get to work on it more. As this works in with my new list, that’s coming up below, it was time to start working on it again. This is where I picked it up, it’s now much further on and the sole project I’ve been working on. I’m enjoying that, as someone who normally flits from one project to another it’s nice to just knit on this, of course that may not last too long and I might soon return to flitting but for now it’s good.

Now as I’ve mentioned I’m making a list change and quite a substantial one. In order to allow me to remain part of the yop group this year and yet still fulfill some of the dreams I have, I need to make changes. What I am keeping is the shawl section, mainly as I need something I enjoy to work on for times when I’m not designing and designing is the main other section. I want to get my designs written down and worked on. I have other plans for that during the year that I’ll reveal as and when I can. Between now and June when this yop year ends I’m aiming for 6 new designs. I’ll list the section as designs from July till now and then what comes from now until June in its part of the section. I’m also throwing in a section of miscellaneous things that will catch perhaps anything else that comes along that doesn’t fall into the other two sections.

All my projects worked on in this yop year are still available to be seen in my notes section in Ravelry which can be found here , all new projects will still continue to be added in there.

To join in with other YOP’ers or to read other blogs taking part check out our Ravelry group here.

It’s your Year of Projects – you can do what you want! If there were rules, it wouldn’t be yours to own.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Ruth! I hope your season has been full of merry and bright, in spite or the pesky leg incident. On that front, I hope this next month brings continued healing and pain relief– broken bones can be such an inconvenience. I love your hat and shawl–the hat looks warm and squishy. Great idea to split your list into sections–my list seems like a new list already as I haven’t really looked at it in ages! Take care, friend….
