YOP – Year 4 week 21

This week I’ve been concentrating on getting some projects finished.

I did finish next months article piece which once it goes live on the mummypages.ie website I’ll link to here with a blog post with pictures.

I then switched my attention to Elizabeth’s Miss Marple cardigan which really should have been finished long ago, it’s not a hard or complicated project, couple of irksome points about the pattern which I’ve added to my notes on Ravelry which can be found here but a lovely cardigan. Here it is finished and it is now on the blocking mats, I just need to add buttons onto it when dry and it can be marked off as done.

I have also been doing more of the squares for The Lavender Blanket and I intend to concentrate on that this week. Again this is a project that I just seem to be plodding along with and is an easy and quick project, I also need this one for Christmas with another blanket to do after that for Christmas so I really need to move things along!

I also started a new design using these two Studio Donegal Yarns, it has moved on very quickly and I’m expecting this to be finished later today or tomorrow at the latest, then it’s onto the blocking mats for it. I’ve not named it but I’m sure something will come to me.

I suspect this coming week will see just these two projects worked on as I’m back this Thursday to have the screws taken out so a lot of the later end of the weeks projects will depend on how I’m feeling at that point. It is then I should hopefully get talking to a physio so I can grasp some idea of what might be involved in getting off the crutches and back on my two feet. I suspect it’s going to be slow and painful, the painful I don’t mind so much as the slow part, I’m already 8 weeks on the crutches with another week to go and I’m really fed up of them, I’ll need that fed up feeling so I can turn it into determination.

As we head into December I’ve been looking at my list and I know in the New Year I want to concentrate on the designing end of my list, I’ve really just been concentrating on that from July also with a few other projects thrown in so I can feel a list change coming on. Now in all of the previous YOP years I’ve never list changed quite as much as what I’m thinking of so I need to just weigh up what I want to do with what projects need to stay also. This is the warning so that at the end of December/beginning of January you’re not all wondering hey what just happened! 😉

My project notes for YOP Year 4 are up to date and can be found and read here.

  6. Oh Ruth, I pray that the Thursday appointment goes well and that your healing will be painless and fast. I adore the sweater and you’ve done a beautiful job on it. The blocks are so pretty and you always motivate me to stay on task….as much as possible considering all the changes that come about. I can’t wait to see what you’re changing up! Have a great rest of your week and I’ll be praying for your painless recovery.
