New Article Tutorial

10154147_752197194820097_3412173499890350483_nAs some of you will know I was asked some weeks ago to be the mummypages.ie knitting and crochet expert.

I will be writing a tutorial type article once a month guiding you step by step through that months project.

I am very excited about this.

I get to combine two favourite pastimes while guiding others in the making of a project, what could be better, add into this a little writing and well you can guess the rest.

My first article went up at the start of November. It can be found HERE.

For the first article I chose to turn some jars into tea light holders. I love lighting candles and they make a room so inviting sitting on a table  in a corner.

I’m always up cycyling empty jars for holding the tea lights but these are not very pretty to look at so this month’s article takes the humble jar and covers it, some in themes and colours and makes them pretty sitting in that corner.

I love the smell of fresh flowers around the house and combining both flowers and candles is a classic. A classic for a reason as they just always work together.

I worked up some themed examples i.e. for Halloween and Christmas and they turned out gorgeous.

Lit up at night time they just add to the room. Even the black in the Halloween ones worked so don’t be afraid to use those dark colours.

But I don’t just use the jars for tealights, they are handy for storing hooks and needles and even my colouring pencils, really your only limited by your imagination.

I didn’t realize how hanau a jar could be. I love the Halloween one’s. They’re festive all lit up.
