YOP – Year 4 week 17

This week has been a mix of finishing off projects and starting new ones.

Early in the week I finished off another set of cloths. This set was called the Cool Blue set.

My notes on them can be found here

Equinox my next design is just off the needles ready to be blocked later today so I’m hoping to have that to show you all next weekend.

I’ve also been working away on Elizabeth’s Miss Marple cardigan which I’ve now sectioned off for the sleeves and I’m working on the top parts, with one nearly done I can’t see this part taking too long and hope to be onto the first sleeve by the end of the week.

As for new projects I can show you one right now.

It’s a new blanket for Caoimhe, this one is called The Lavender Blanket. It’s inspiration comes from the lavender flower.

Here you will see I’m working on the darker purple colour doing the centre squares, once I have all the centres done I can concentrate on adding the other colours, there are also a few plainer squares in this blanket to mix it up a bit.

My first article that I was telling you about a couple of weeks ago is set to go live later this week and I hope to be able to provide a link to it in my new section for anyone who wants to avail of it. Two of my other new starts are for the next article, I couldn’t decide on which one so started both until I saw each one, whichever I don’t use I’ll upload as a free pattern under the How To tab at the top of the page later in November.

This week is mid-term week for the children so no school run’s or timetables and far less clock watching so I am hoping to get a good part of the blanket squares done and as I said I hope to get moved onto the sleeves of Elizabeth’s cardigan.

I am also hoping to get another design set out on paper and maybe even started. I’m very conscious of a mini timetable set myself with wanting two more designs done for early January. The ideas were written down in detail so it’s really a matter of working out the numbers and swatches.

If you would like to read other blogs taking part in the YOP year or indeed to take part yourself, we always love new members no matter the time of year, check out the Ravelry group here.

The Miss Marple cardigan is gorgeous and a lovely colour, I’m sure it will fly of those needles now. I love reading your posts Ruth, they are always inspiring as you have so much on the go all the time!!

  2. All these cloth sets are so pretty! I really must try a pattern with a picot edging like that – it makes them look so dainty! Miss Marple looks lovely too!

  3. Lucy Bowen says:

Wow you always have so much going on!! I love the new cloths and the colour of Miss Marple is gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing Equinox, I will look out for it in your Ravelry group.

  4. Love your color cloth sets better than the ones i did. Mine were a bit “thick”. I think I’ll try yours next time. The Miss Marple is stunning. She will love it and you do such beautiful work. I can’t believe how far you’ve come since I met you. You were always a talented knitter but then you took off with the crochet and designing and now Celtic Knits? You should give yourself a big pat on the back. Your family must be so proud of you!

  5. Gracey says:

Wow…busy….that Miss Marple is bright, but I love the color!

  6. Kepanie says:

What a pretty color. You make dishcloths look chic.

  7. Iris says:

    Loving the dish cloths!! x
