YOP- Year 3 Update

With one more week left for updating I’m looking at the remainder of wip’s and they don’t look like they are going to get finished.

They may do if I give them a good ole push and perhaps they’ll be done in time for round-up week.

As for YOP year 4 the list is up for debate once again, I keep see-sawing between both lists and the clock is ticking down to when the decision needs to be made, regular list of many many projects versus a themed book of many many projects 🙂

But let’s move onto what’s been worked on this week.

The sampler was completed and gifted on Friday and I’m really pleased with how it was finished, I’ll be doing a blog post just for it on Monday as it really does deserve a blog post all of its own.

I’ve been working on the Rose Blanket and am doing these light pink squares. I’ve about 30 more to do.

I’ve also been designing a new pattern for A Land Close By, it was a long drawn out affair one of the days with several designs not quite working out the way I wanted them but eventually I got a pattern that I was happy with. It’s nearly worked out now so that just leaves writing it up early this coming week and sending it off to testers.

YOP projects list is here and if you’d like to learn more or join in with us in July check out the Ravelry group here.

  1. Too many WIPS, too little time!

  2. Lovely little squares for the Rose blanket. I know what you mean about designs not quite working out how you hoped. I’m working away at a sock pattern that looks promising, but I think I need to rip out my test sock entirely and change the pattern panel widths. I just need to find the willpower to do it and start again. That, and there’s another pattern bumping around in my head that I’m itching to start. Probably best I don’t have multiple sets of needles; it saves me from the temptation to cast on all things.

I love the squares, beautiful colour. I will be looking out for your sampler post – can’t wait to see the finished product!

  4. Christine says:

I think I am going to be fairly safe for the WIPS… I have some that I know are going to have to be carried over… That is intentional for other reasons all together.

  5. Kepanie says:

Noncrafters have no idea how hard it can be to design with yarn. I think it’s a little easier with crochet but going from paper to yarn is not an easy transition.

  6. I love the rose blanket and regardless of any WIP’s not getting done you still get more done than most…especially me! Plus, you started your own business this year and started designing your own patterns. You should be very pleased with your accomplishments this past year.
