Beanie-a-long with me

I’m hooking up with Kepanie over at Knitspiring Odyssey for today’s Beanie – a- long

Over the Christmas period I finished off a beanie I knit for my husband. He had one main requirement in wanting it longer so it would pull down over his ears and back of his neck while out but it also had to be able to roll up. I designed this very simple beanie for him.

I’ve called it Waters Edge as the yarn coloured me reminded me of the colour of the water at the edge of our lake.

I knit this out of an acrylic and wool mix I had here in the house so as an everyday hat for hubby it should stand wear and tear.

The pattern may need a little tweaking here or there so I want to re-knit it before releasing it.

Here James modelled it for me both as a fitted beanie and a slouchy one.

I’m working on another hat this time in Debbie Bliss cashmerino. This yarn is so soft and is going to make one gorgeous hat.

Again I’m working from my head on this one and I do have a burnt orange to work into it.

So there you have some of the hats I’ve been working on and going to be working on.

Thank you for linking up! The name is so appropriate for your husband’s hat. It’s speckled with pebbles here and there that the lake waves wash over.

I am anxious to see the new hat done. The colors are so bright and cheerful. I think the burnt orange in it will be very dynamic. Your hubbys beanie is very nice and the name suits it well.

Interesting idea to keep the back of the neck warm. Good name for it too, the blue does look like a pretty lake on a sunny day…or at least the best I can remember. It’s been such a cold, dreary winter sorta hard to remember.
