YOP Year 2 Update

2Yoppostheader

I’m sneaking this post in before I head outside to enjoy the sunny day. It has been blistering hot this last week, the whole entire week can you believe it ? I can’t !

Anyway onto what’s been happening with yarn this week. As I said last week I’ve completed most of what was on my yop list so I’m spending the next two weeks doing items for the girls birthdays.

I worked on both of these headbands for them. The purple is for Caoimhe and the pink is for Elizabeth.

These are a wonderful pattern from Crafts from the Cwtch, it’s called the Hilda Headwrap and I love it so much I think I may make one for myself also. I knit these with King Cole Bamboo Cotton on a 4mm needle and I’ve left them open so they can tie them around their hairs. I will take photos of them in their hair once hey receive them so you can get the idea.

I have some crochet ones I want to try out as well for them. The idea is to fill their bags with these and some other hair accessories and girrly bits.

I have been working on Caoimhe’s Lucy bag as well. Hers are in shades of purple. I’m using a pale lilac and mid purple and using a darker plum for a darker stripe through it. This is done with a Stylecraft Special DK and a 4mm hook.

I have next years list nearly complete and I’ve lots of ideas and projects to do on it but you know how fickle I am and change my mind on these so we shall see what stays over the coming weeks. I’m hoping the Ravelry group continue as it’s been such fun for the last two years. Off to check up on what the ladies have been doing this week.

Ruth.

“And when I am old I shall wear purple.” 😉 Purple is such a rebellious colour, I always have to smile when I see it on someone.

The bands are lovely, great idea for your girls…..I made myself a hair band once, my hubby laughed at me, so ia haven’t worn it since!

All this talk of completed lists and next years plans makes me a little nervous, I have seriously lost the plot recently….ooooppps!

Well my list for next year wouldn’t make anyone nervous, instead of patterns it’s got more headings and guidelines if thats any help, that way I can fill in the blanks so to speak as I go along and I’ve one really special part I’m loving, if nothing I’ve learned from the last two years ! No doubt I’ll wander completely off track again but hey that’s part of my list also.

These projects are all so terrific, Ruth! I love your daughter’s bag from its shape to its colors. You an awesome mum. I can’t wait to see how the headbands look on them.

I’m a little late posting this week..I’m so glad to see we will be continuing on for year 3.. You have become a crochet ninja!

Such fun little gifts for your lucky little girls. I sure wish I had known how to knit when my kids were young–but I guess knitting for the Grands will do just fine. 🙂 I am thinking on my list for next year and it is looking to be centered around yarn and projects already purchased along with some new stuff. I think there will be some things rolling over from this year too.
Hope you enjoyed your lovely weather–we have had a gloomy week but the weekend is looking good, before more gloomy moves in next week.
    *smiles*
