I stayed on course this week with wip’s and refrained from starting anything new. In reality I just couldn’t figure out what else I wanted to start. I’ve been looking at my list but just not feeling the love of anything on it that remains.
While pondering this dilemma I did work on the cloth I had on the needles. It was a Baked with Love cloth and I knit it in a pink King Cole Bamboo Cotton on a 3.5mm needle.
I finished this on Friday night so I was just a tad to late for FO Friday. I have cast on the next cloth I’m knitting in the set and it is a St Patrick’s Day Cloth
I also took out the second Stormy Sky sock with the intention of at least getting the leg knit of it. Well I’ve knit the leg and all the heel parts and I am now ready to knit the foot part. On designs like these I tend to take notes on the first sock with regards to how many rows on the foot or pattern repeats on the leg so I can start the second and just follow my notes, this helps me at least get two socks identical and also makes the second sock just a plain sailing.
I said last week I was intending to line the inside of my bag. It got done and I just can’t say how chuffed I am. I had no pattern and haven’t done any sewing from my school days so I’d only my memory of those classes from then and it was never a subject I enjoyed and always did everything to get out of sewing, even convincing the teacher to allow me to do embroidery rather than sewing lol. The bag has now been employed as my everyday handbag and I just love it !
In family news, an Aunt of mine passed away at the start of last week in the UK and is coming home to be buried so we have the funeral coming up. She was a wonderful woman and was the only one to give me a good game of scrabble and I will miss those games and the banter over them very much. We also have Lady Evelyn’s Christening coming up on Saturday so there is lots of preparation going on for that also so I am expecting not to get a lot done this week, perhaps that’s a good job considering I’m not sure what to start next !
My list is looking like this (I’m inserting the list here in the hope something catches my eye !)
Harry Potter Hufflepuff Beanie – just one left to complete the collection
Strib Hat– I have yarn to knit three of these for the three younger children – COMPLETE 3/3
Slouched Tuva Hat
Cowls :- 1/1
These are a few of the patterns I like but I’ve not picked which one or indeed how many of them I will knit, that is to be decided when I start on a cowl.
Eirin Cowl – these also have a pattern for fingerless gloves which I love also
Rhosyn Cowl – these also come with a pair of matching fingerless gloves and a headband
Pendleton Cowl – I love the colourwork in this one
I want to make one pair of fingerless gloves this year, more if I get the time. Again these are some of the patterns I have in mind but I’m undecided on which one.

I would love to knit a good few pairs of socks but that not may be possible so I shall aim to knit this pair anyway and anything over that shall be a bonus.

My aim is to continue knitting one a week until the end of December. This post I’m moving here to a Sunday and I’m making it part of the projects as it will be something I’m doing. – Weekly Challenge
Advent Garland :- 24/24
Smitten A Holiday Garland – this I fell in love with and as family who love an advent calendar I thought this might be different and fun this year, especially if I fill each mitten with a little piece of chocolate for each of the children. – COMPLETE
