Tolkien’s Not All Those That Wander Are Lost design.

Last week I didn’t get the chance to update on stitching but I’m pleased to say that this week I got the first sample finished of my designed bookmark and can reveal it.

After finishing off the design on paper I got to the exciting part of choosing fabric and colours etc, some in the running were.

l-r navy, old gold, antique cream and flax linen

I finally decided on the antique cream and used brown and gold tones on it for the first version. As the title suggests the design was all around Tolkien’s memorable quote of “Not all those that wander are lost” . The finished piece was made into a bookmark.

I am mostly pleased with it, it needs some tweaking which I hope a second version will rectify so expect to see this design again.

I did enjoy very much the designing process and mostly the stitching but I really don’t like the finishing off so for that I may need to enlist help lol.

This week I’m going to start the next Kris Kringle Santa ornament and if you enjoyed the last one in blue you should love this next one which is going to be green. I love the non traditional Santa’s.

  7. It turned out gorgeous! I've been wanting to try designing some felted wool items but I haven't done it yet. You definitely do not let any grass grow under your feet! Very nice and I love the quote too.
