YOP Year 2 Update

Morning bloggers to what is a cold and dull winters day, we had snow during the week, imagine our surprise at that! We are not known for the amount of snow we get lol!

Thank you all for answering my question on sock yarn last week. The minefield that was sock yarn is now a whole lot clearer. You are all a wonderful source of information.

With the yarn a little clearer in my mind I went in search of my knitted sock books. I knew I had some in book craft pile but I never suspected I had quite so many ! You’d never guess I’m only knitting my fourth pair of socks and two of those pairs are not quite complete! lol but as I’ve said before books out number knitting and stitching stash.

Sock Books.

I must apologise for the poor pictures this week, its been so dull it was impossible to find any good natural light for pictures. Armed with these and my knowledge now on sock yarn I feel prepared for adding more socks to next year’s list (yes I know I mentioned another yop year lol)

When on a search for these books I found the toe up socks I started for Ruairí. I’d put them aside and then completely forgot about those so I need to finish those off, one sock is done and the other started! I also came across two balls of Sublime Baby Cashmere Merino Silk DK in a pinky purple colour.

So off I went in search of a cardigan pattern as there should be enough yarn for a cardigan for Evelyn.
I came up with In threes , this pattern has a few sizes and is knit all in one.

In Threes

I started it late last night after doing the toe decreases on my sock and have just a few rows done, none of these pictures show the actual true colour of the yarn and the next bright day I hope to capture it fully for you. This shouldn’t take to long as I’m knitting the 0-6month size for Evelyn and with her being so tiny I’m using a dk yarn rather than a worsted weight one.

In Threes

I did finish Hermiones Everyday Socks, well I just need to do the kitchener stitch to close the toe but I need to locate my darning needle! It can’t have gone far but I just need to find it…

Hermiones Socks.

This week I’m hoping to get my other sock started and move along with the cardigan for Evelyn.

Crochet this week has been going on as well. For anyone who didn’t catch Friday’s FO post I finished another crochet cloth. I used Rico Cotton in an Aran weight and I used a 5mm hook. Personally I’d use a 4mm one next time for a tighter gauge but its good and will make a good cloth I’m sure.

Crochet Cloth

This has no pattern as its just a granny square pattern I made to size of cloth I wanted.

I’m not sure what I’m going to crochet next. I want to do some bunting for the girls room so I might play around with that idea and look up some patterns.

This is how my yop list is looking up to this week.

As you’ll see Evelyn I think would prefer they talk to her than smile for the camera lol

Gorgeous children. I love the first two cowl patterns you've chosen. I've just bought some lovely 5ply alpaca yarn that I'd like to do up in a cowl. Both of these patterns would be perfect. But might wait for the cooler weather as we are in the middle on summer here in Australia, unlike you with your snow. :).
