YOP Year 2 Update and New Arrival :-)

Afternoon Bloggers,

I am grabbing such a quick few minutes to update on YOP and make the announcement !!

First off I finished the Basic Beanie last Sunday night and this saw all the xmas presents I had to do complete and as you’ll find out in a moment just in the nick of time to. This one is for my sister and is a slouchier version of the ones I knit for James and Dominic.

Basic Beanie

Some weeks back I knit this Gentle Beanie for Caoimhe and on Friday while doing some resting and I started the matching mittens for this. One is complete and the second started, I’m hoping with another day or so this will be complete and will be an added bonus for her present this Xmas…Girl Gift Mitts are what I’m working for. I made these narrower at the top as she has a small hand and to help keep the toasty warm.

Girl Gift Mitts

I’m going to finish these mittens this week and decide on a hat pattern for myself, I didn’t get to that this week as you’ll see why now…

On Monday I had my weekly check up with my consultant and we debated whether we would be making it to due date, both having agreed that yes I’d likely make it to the 12th but perhaps not much longer…well little did we know that 2 hours after returning from the clinic in the hospital I would be returning to have the baby…

Let me introduce you all to my most precious bundle who arrived in the wee hours of Tuesday the 4th December at 4.44am and weighing in at a tiny 6lb’s 12oz’s…Miss Evelyn Alice.

Miss Evelyn Alice

We arrived home on Thursday and to say everyone is besotted with her is an understatement. We have been settling in and all getting to know her and routine is out the window at the moment but will fall into place soon enough. The main thing is to enjoy and treasure each precious moment.
Here’s one more pic as who can resist baby pics…I will download more as the weeks go on lol.

Miss Evelyn Alice

Now you will forgive me if I leave you now for baby cuddles and snuggles!

Happy Knitting,
Ruth.

If you feel the need to not do any knitting or stitching but do, in fact, feel incredibly inclined to keep showing us photos of that baby (and the rest of the kiddos), you go right ahead. Knitting can wait. Just sayin'. She's gorgeous! If Little Man had been a boy, there was a good chance that his name would have been Evelyn. Of course, I wanted to go for the traditional Irish spelling but Husband wasn't having any of that ("No one will know how to pronounce it!"). ::sigh::
