YOP Year 2 Update

Morning Bloggers,

I’m really getting into it now aren’t I, back to posting in the mornings lol. Things are just as busy just I’ve found my groove again in getting chores done. It will most likely only last a week or two as I’m starting to tire now and I can feel myself slowing, this is the hardest thing for me !

Someone asked how was the baby naming going…its going quite good with the list down to a manageable two on the boys with one clear favourite and two on the girls but no clear favourite there just yet!  I will have decided on the name before I go to the hospital as I’m just not the sort of person who says we shall see what the baby looks like

I’ve made my lists for Christmas and preparation that need to be done early and I’m starting to cross off items on it so everything should be done on time, unless I forget something which is very likely as I seem to be forgetting lots of things lately!

I’ve even started to stitch again and at some stage through the week I’ll have another update on that.

Knitting this week has been slow but steady. I worked on the little jumper you saw started last week. This is now on the final back piece and then it just needs blocking and sleeves sewn together and buttons. Here is how it looks at the moment.

Sabine Jumper

I think I shall have some of this white 4 ply left over and also in the lemon to so I shall have to think of something else to use it up.

I got Benjamin’s mittens done to match his hat so his gift is now complete and ready for wrapping later in the month. The pattern I used is this Children’s Mittens .

Mittens

This week I will hopefully finish off the jumper and get it blocked at least and make a start on Elizabeth’s beanie. Hers is in the same size as Benjamin’s so makes sense to do that one next.

I need to update my list which I will hopefully get at during the week and we can have a look and see how it is looking next Sunday.

Looking forward to seeing what you have all been up to this week.

Happy Knitting,
Ruth

It's nice to see the ticker at the top of your page….the time is flying by…well, at least it feels like it for me!Love the clever design of the Sabine jumper, and the mittens are lovely. We found names a difficult one, to be honest, if we ever had another boy I think it would have to have a girls name, as we found littlest name very hard to come to!

  3. Love the Sabine Jumper! I'm excited to see it finished! Will you post a picture of it on Rav? Just, I'm trying to get pitures for all the garments from that booklet on the Rav pattern pages

  4. Great progress! I also had my children named before I went into hospital – in fact they were both named before the third trimester which some people think is odd, but we just knew the names were right. It's such an exciting time. Hope you have a great week x

Eh, are you sure that baby name list is narrowed down to just two or three ;-p I expect at least another 2 million choices to be messaged to me before December ;););)The jumper is looking fab, the baby will be lovely and toastie warm this Winter as will the little ones with their hats and mittens 🙂

  6. Mouse says:

The construction of the baby garment is so interesting. You are making great progress on that. The lil' mitts are wonderful for your son.

Wow! Only 66 (or so) days to go! I am sure it is going by much faster for us than you, at times. 🙂 You are so organized and will be so glad of it, come the middle of December… and your wee one is going to be so toasty warm and snuggled that he/she will have no reasons to fuss. 🙂 For the record, I am like you–names were chosen before the birth, except for child #3–we changed his 2 days after he was born, but at least we still ended up choosing a name on our list–our #2 boy choice in fact. :)I hope your week to come is super and that you take time to rest. My post will be up later tonight(my time) probably day,(your time).**smiles and a hug**

  12. Kristie says:

  13. You must be enjoying knitting all of these wee things!

I am SO excited for you and in SUCH awe of your organisational skills. I did pretty much have B's name decided before she arrived, but didn't tell the midwife until after the gas and air wore off.
