YOP Year 2 Update

Morning Bloggers !

Thank you all for the best wishes and congratulations, happy times ahead.

This week I’ve spent knitting in my spare time, anyone looking for a stitching update I’m sorry it just didn’t happen this week. I’m not in the mood to stitch. I signed up for IHSW in the hope I’d get the itch to stitch (oh great title, must remember, must remember !) and still nothing and I’m planning on knitting today, wait till you see why though !!

I got lots of items done, lots of them small but I did start a  bigger project to lol.

First off I’ve finished the last washcloth for the baby. So this counts as this weeks cloth. It looks kind of blue but is a nice turquoise and is to match last weeks starfish cloth for a seaside theme. I used a King Cole Bamboo Cotton for this. This here is the pattern Starfish Cloth

Starfish cloth

I did finish James hat the Jacques Cousteau Hat, I don’t have any pictures of it at the moment as I’ll wait for him to model it on his birthday in a week or two.

I got four more mittens done for the advent garland Smitten, this brings the total up to 8 and I could have pushed for doing more but I’m just knitting these here and there as the mood strikes.

Four more mittens.

Oh yes I knit a burp cloth as well. I used a King Cole Bamboo Cotton print for the main part and then edged it with CROCHET !! I know how adventurous am I getting. Its not perfect but I’m pleased with it as it looks somewhat like I envisaged and its CROCHET !! (for new readers, I don’t crochet, well that’s wrong really, I know the stitches I just don’t practise and I just don’t tend to do it). Oh yes a picture now lol…te daaaa

Burp cloth

The yarn I mentioned arrived last week. So I can now happily move on from cloths for the baby onto other useful items. Lots of neutrals.

New Yarn

So with this new yarn on Thursday I cast on this Pinwheel Blanket and worked on it Thursday and Friday night. This is just two sections of it.

Pinwheel Blanket

Last night I cast on this Christmas-y Baby Hat how cute is that ! Here is where I finished up last night, just the top points to do and some pom pom’s (they should be interesting I haven’t made those since I was 8! ) and its done.

Christmas-y Baby Hat

So many projects! And so many at once! I envy you're ability to have more than one thing going. I have always been a start-to-finish kinda gal so have a hard time starting something new before what I am working on is finished. (I am that way with TV shows too, have to watch them in order, can't just watch a show here & there unless I have already seen it). Look forward to seeing all that you have finished through the year!
