Theme – a – licious catch up

This past month in the theme-a-licious was Jumanji June.  The idea was to stitch something animal or jungle related and I did have the perfect piece, a photopiece of my son at the zoo with a tiger but unfortunately I didn’t get to spend as much as I would have liked at it. This month I did have to concentrate on getting several birthday pieces done and I’m pleased with that so I can’t be that to put out.
Here is my meagre progress.

Photostitch – before

Photostitch – after

This is what it will eventually end up as. I’m hoping to do more on it when I get the birthday pieces for the remainder of the year finished.

What the finished photo stitch will look like.

The theme for July is –
Jolly July

It’s a jolly holiday with your WIPs…you can concentrate on Christmas designs, ornaments, or even pick a different holiday to render in stitchy goodness.

I have a total blank as to what I’m going to work on. I have quite a bit to do on my next birthday piece and unless Harry Potter has been made into a holiday and someone forgot to tell me I’ll have to pick something. We don’t do July 4th here in Ireland, its a bit late for Easter and St Patricks Day and I’m not so big into stitching for Halloween so I guess that leaves me with Christmas. I may start an ornament this month and aim to get it finished but we will see. You will have to check back on the 15th to see what holiday I’ve come up with.

Now as its the end of the month its time to take a look back at the goals from this month and see how I did and set some aims out for next month.

 June Goals –

  • Work on Hogwarts Crest and Photo Stitch  DONE
  • Finish Gorjuss Kit DONE
  • Catch up on dishcloths- nearly there, just two more and I’m up to date.
  • Finish Ruairi’s socks – NOT DONE

July Goals –

  • Work on Hogwarts Crest
  • Come up with a holiday piece
  • Finish Catching up on Dishcloths
  • Finish Ruairí’s socks.

All in all not a bad month and my major aims of finishing the birthday pieces on time was completed.

Happy Stitching,

I'd count the birthday piece as something holiday oriented. :)I'm really interested in seeing how the project of your son and the tiger comes out. I've not seen anything stitched from a photo before.

You amaze me! How do you get it all done? Your photo piece looks a bit daunting to me, but seeing what I have of you up to now, I know you will complete it–probably sooner than later. :)*smiles*

Oh wow! You are so clever to transform a photo into cross stitch!Jolly holiday can be anything yeah? Christmas is probably common, but I think any holiday that makes you happy should count.

cant wait to see it when it done, must be stunning 🙂

  9. LOL!! Well, I think since Harry's birthday is July 31st, you're quite in your rights to count any Harry Potter pieces for Jolly July. =) I haven't found anyone's stitching I've been unable to justify for Theme-a-licious yet! ;)Those are lovely greens in the tiger piece. Now I can see how big it is going to be once it's done!
