YOP Update

Morning everyone,

Sorry to be a day late in posting my update but I was enjoying the last of the Easter holidays yesterday, this morning its back to alarm clocks, making lunches, grabbing school bags and racing out the door and this evening more of the same. Is it to early do you think to count down to the summer holidays ? mm I don’t think so lol

Progress this week has been mainly confined to catching up on my dishcloths and I made some progress on the branching out scarf.

First cloth up is the last Harry Potter themed cloth. This one is for Caoimhe and is a Tri Wizard Cup one, in purple and yellow. Excuse the picture but there is no way I was being allowed block this before snapping its photo !
This finishes off the Harry Potter themed ones for the children but I’m sure they will come up with something else for me to knit lol.

All of the Harry Potter designs are free on Ravelry, just search them in the pattern section.

Last weeks cloth was back to just a single colour and was just plain forward mindless knitting lol.
Its called a Pattern Check Dish Cloth. This is a pattern I was trying out for myself before including this in a gift set I’m making up.

As I said I also made some progress on the Branching Out scarf that was on my yop list.

I’ve gone through my YOP list and taken some items off that I’ve just no interest in knitting, well at the moment at least and some I’m moving to next years list. To check out these changes just kit the YOP tab at the top of the page where the list with links to the patterns are.

I haven’t ordered the sock yarn yet as I’m settling on some patterns I want to knit and then I’ll choose the yarn to go with these patterns. For next years list I’m going to take some from some books I have and some from patterns in my favourite list on Ravelry. I’m wondering is a pair of socks a month to ambitious ?

Off now to catch up with you all and see what creations you have for the week. 🙂

Happy knitting,
Ruth

Seems like a good idea that you went through that list again. Maybe you will be frustrated with not getting a pair of socks done every month? I suppose a sock a month seems weird huh? Well you will get to everyone's socks regardless. 🙂 ♥

That's an interesting pattern Ruth – the pattern check cloth. I can imagine that Caoimhe must be thrilled with her cloth 🙂 Great progress on the scarf too!

  4. As a newbie sock knitter, I found one pair per month ambitious. With practice, it's an easier target. I think you should go for it, but allow yourself to take more time when you need it.Also I would take the opportunity to try different sock yarns as you go along. I certainly found that my favourites weren't the ones that initially attracted me!I also think that pattern check looks interesting. I might have to look into that one.
