YOP Update

Good morning everyone !

Another week over and boy are these weeks flying.
Thank you all for the tips on the socks, I’ve ventured to look at yarns and in the new year will venture into the knitted sock world, its exciting and a bit daunting. Thank you Kepanie for the link, the Jelly Bean looks like a great sock to start with and would fit my daughter. Faith, I’m totally useless at crochet so mix that with a sock and I feel it would be a disaster. I need to master crochet first and then perhaps a sock in it. πŸ™‚

This week I’ve been working on Harry Potter Scarf again…did you guess lol.
I’m pleased with my progress on this as I’ve been getting extra hours in on it when the children have been at school and so far I’ve still managed to keep it a secret which with so many in the house is a feat in itself lol.
I’ve just 5 and 1/2 stripes left to go and I am really hoping I can get it complete this week.

I’ve laid it out this way in the picture so you can see how far more I’ve to go to reach the end.

I’ve also been tricking around at this Circle Cloth . When I say tricking around I mean just that, only a bit here and a bit there. Hubby has been doing the school runs for me so I’ve had extra time on the scarf but this has left my dishcloths slightly behind so I will have a catch up one of the days, should be possible as they are quick enough knits.
I am hoping to have this one finished and its other one in the set cast on this week.

Looking forward to catching up with all your posts this week and seeing what you have all been creating. Thanks again for the lovely comments and hints and tips they are very helpful.

Happy Knitting,
Ruth

  1. Oh Ruth! Both of your projects look great. Nice progress. I hope this week allows much knitting time. A job well done on keep everything secret. Certainly not easy with your crew! πŸ™‚

  2. HP is looking good! You're in the final stretch! WOn't it be a relief if you can get it off the needles by the end of the week? It becomes pretty cumbersome by the end and you have to keep unwinding the knitted work as your rounds proceed :(What a pretty dishcloth!

  3. Wow, the circle cloth looks great!

  4. Mouse says:

  7. Nicole says:

The scarf is coming along quite nicely! Almost there! I like your shade of blue in that circle cloth, that's whipping up quick for you too!

  8. Faith says:

Now if you can knit with two needles, circulars etc… Crochet will be easy-peasy in comparison.Your scarf looks great, hope you get it done and tucked away this week. I like your circle cloth too, I keep meaning to make a couple of crocheted ones, but haven't got there yet.Have a good week.x

  9. Kepanie says:

That circle dishcloth is awesome. You could knit a scarf like that. The Jelly Bean socks is a knit pattern. I have yet to try crocheted socks.

  10. Linda says:

  11. Liz says:

The cloth and the scarf both look great! I hope you can get the scarf finished this week. I love having things like stripes as a way to judge my progress – I find the plain coloured scarves seem to drag on longer for me than striped ones – but that could be my imagination. πŸ™‚
