YOP Update

Morning all form a cool and but sunny Ireland.

I’m doing just a quick update as my best friend Lucie is visiting and we want to get back to some stitching and chatting. Tea and cake are also involved.

Progress on the Gryffindor scarf has been good this week and its coming onto the half way point now. I’m very pleased with that. Here’s how it is looking so far.

I’ve started to think about I’ll knit next once these scarves are done so I’ve been reviewing my list. I think I’ll finish the One Row Lace Scarf and start some more headscarf’s for Caoimhe and possibly tackle some of the hats on the list. In the new year I am going to organise knitting my first pair of socks so I shall start hunting for a nice pattern and yarn…any suggestions for an easy one to start  ?

Thank you all for the lovely comments over the last few weeks, I have enjoyed reading them so much and I’m really enjoying reading all your blogs and seeing all your projects.

Happy Knitting,

Glad there are cakes and tea while you stitch and chat, sounds pretty perfect to me. Enjoy the rest of your time with your friend.Your scarf is looking great and I look forward to seeing your next projects……my advise for knitting a sock……crochet it instead, only one hook not four!

Scarf looks great. Do you know any babes? I find baby clothes a good "leveling up" project. It is small, quick, fun yarn and you can pick up a new skill pretty easily.

Love the colors in your scarf, is it round? Sounds like you're having a fun visit.

Your scarf is coming along nicely – after seeing yours last week, I asked my grandson about which Harry Potter character he liked the best. Of course he said Harry Potter so I guess a Gryffindor scarf will be on my list for early in the new year.

  7. Hmm, that looks familiar! I think I'm at exactly the same spot as you. LOL Aren't you sick of stockinette yet? I am!

What a wonderful scarf! I love Harry Potter and the noble, heroic ethics of Gryffindor. If you want to knit a pair of baby socks first, Susan B. Anderson's free Jelly Bean socks is a great pattern to start with because her instructions are so detailed and precise.
