Finishing, Starting and Dinner Partying !

This past week has been super busy. I’ve been out dining every night and trying to get some stitching done.
First the stitching.

As you know I’ve been trying to get cushions done for my girls birthdays. I managed to get Caoimhe’s finished and stuffed in time.
I chose a Forever Friends design that came in Cross Stitch Crazy Magazine issue 151 as it had a birthday cake with 7 candles on, just perfect for Caoimhe as she turns 7.
This was my first attempt at a mitered cornered cushion and it didn’t come out to bad. Improvements could be made but for a first attempt I’m quite pleased with it. Lets hope on Thursday Caoimhe loves it too.

I also started Elizabeths cushion and I have until Sunday morning to get it complete for my little girls 1st Birthday.
Here is a small update picture and hopefully I shall have the complete cushion for next weeks update.
Update on Elizabeths Cushion

Now as I said I had been out dining all week. My sister, cousin and a friend of ours decided to have a come dine with me competition. Each of us would cook a meal and we would eat and mark it out of 10. We had so much fun and it was wonderful just all getting together. I have a few pictures of my night. I went last Friday night.

For starter I did a Smoked salmon with honey, black pepper, spring onion and homemade soda bread.
For main course I did a spiced slow roasted leg of lamb with asparagus and baby new potatoes.
For desert I did a duo  apple pie with vanilla ice cream and cream.
