February’s Biscornu

I’ve started my February biscornu for my basket of bisconru’s.

This month with valentines day being in February I decided to do this months biscornu with a heart theme.

I’ve used red evenweave and I am doing blackwork filled hearts in gold metallic thread.
The 15 squares have all been backstitched and as I used a red in the same shade of the evenweave it was slow going.

I’ve started the hearts and to stitch with metallics takes a little more patience but hopefully this will all pay off in the end.

Here is a picture of one of the hearts…

Now only 14 more to go !

Here is a picture of all the hearts before being cut out and made into the biscornu.

The hearts all complete and before being made up.

Here are a couple of pictures of the complete and made up biscornu.

I have to say this whole biscornu was a labour of love and was well worth it.
My idea came out just as I planned it and I’m very pleased with the end  result.
I think I’d definitely have another go at doing my own designs and have a couple of more ideas….
